Welcome to our dental office! At Gunbarrel Dental Center, we want our patients to stay educated about their routine care. We are passionate about providing high-quality general dental care, cleanings, and exams for our patients. Our dental team can help prevent oral health issues with regular, professional care. We welcome patients to read the patient information for our Boulder, CO dental office to learn more about regular dental visits and our practice’s mission.
Routine Dental Visits
We will need your medical history and insurance information if you are a new patient. You can save time on your first visit by printing out and completing the patient forms before your appointment. You will get to know Dr. Barone, our office staff, and our hygienists at your first dental visit.
Dental Cleanings
Our dental hygienists offer routine dental cleanings and preventative gum disease cleanings. Regular cleanings remove plaque and tartar from the teeth and gums. Plaque is a sticky bacterial film that hardens to form tartar. It can be difficult for patients to remove tartar. Our hygienists use specialized and sanitized dental tools to remove hardened plaque.
Scaling and root planing are common treatment options for patients who already have signs of gingivitis or gum inflammation. During these treatments, our hygienists remove bacteria from underneath the gums and the tooth roots. These cleanings help prevent further gum recession and tooth loss caused by periodontitis.
Oral Health Screenings and Exams
We screen patients for a variety of dental problems, from gum disease to TMD and oral cancer. Gum disease, or periodontitis, begins with red, swollen, and bleeding gums. Our team will also look for signs of gum recession and inflamed and irritated gums.
Signs of oral cancer that we look for include white or red patches in the mouth or chronic mouth ulcers. Dr. Barone can also screen for bite problems like TMD, which cause discomfort in the jaw muscles and joints. She will use a carbon paper to measure bite pressure and see which areas of the bite are uneven.
Our Mission Statement
Our practice is working together to realize a shared vision of uncompromising excellence in dentistry. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to:
- Listening to those we are privileged to serve.
- Earn the trust and respect of patients, profession, and community.
- Exceed your expectations.
- Ensure a creative, challenging, and compassionate professional environment.

New Patient FAQs
If you are a new patient and want to know more about our office, read answers to these common questions:
Is your office accepting new patients?
Yes, we accept new patients. Call 720-881-0614 or make an appointment online.
Do you accept dental plans?
Gunbarrel Dental Center offers an office membership plan so patients can receive affordable cleaning and exams. We also offer a periodontal maintenance plan that includes fluoride and periodontal maintenance every three months. Additionally, our office accepts CareCredit, a card that allows patients to finance their dental care easily.
How often should I make dental appointments?
We recommend that patients schedule a routine dental cleaning twice a year or every six months.
